Description of Services

Education about the court and non-court options

Family court can be a maze for those unfamiliar with it. We can help to navigate it saving you money and time

Assistance completing the required court filings and documents

We will interview you and based on what you want to say will complete the court applications and Affidavits for you ready to file

Commission (swear) documents

We are licensed as Commissioners of Oaths to swear your court filings

Attend Court with you

Attending court can be intimidating. However, the family courts now do an excellent job of accommodating self-represented litigants (called SRL’s). We can help you get ready and ensure you get a great outcome

“Self-representing myself, with your support, through my divorce was one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life –  I can’t believe it was so easy!  I’m so much stronger now because  I took control & helped myself!”

(former client Testimonial)

Coaching you to Self-Represent in Court

We can’t speak for you in court but we can come with you to support you through the process.  If you speak English above a Grade 4 level; you can easily do this with our support

We help some clients write speaking notes so all you have to do is read what you’ve prepared ahead of time & usually answer a few easy questions the Judge might ask you. Preparing for Trial, if it comes to that is more intense but we could help with that too & be right there with you for support.  You will be more confident & so proud of yourself afterwards!

Assistance in finding and retaining a lawyer

In some cases you will decide that it is best to use a family lawyer. We can do this search for you and help you obtain good counsel. We may be able to help you to negotiate an unbundled lawyer service (flat fee-for-service)

Assistance in completing a Template Separation Agreement

We have lawyer drafted, Alberta-legal template Separation Agreements we can help you complete to save you a lot of money on a mediated separation or divorce
